Republican Policy Committee Releases "Top 10 Worst Items" in the Democrats' COVID Bailout

WASHINGTON --- Following the passage of the Democrats' $1.9 trillion American "Rescue" Plan Act, the Republican Policy Committee released a policy brief listing the top 10 most concerning items, such as the following:

  • Any of the$687 billion(over a third of the bill) that would not be spent in 2021;
  • $86 billiontaxpayer bailout of failing union pension plans that were mismanaged before the pandemic;
  • $350 billion in state and local aid that gives more to states that shut down their economies and caused massive unemployment; and
  • An open door for taxpayer-funded abortions by not including Hyde amendment protections across multiple grant programs.
