Chairman Palmer Announces House Republican Policy Committee Staff
WASHINGTON, DC (Februrary 25, 2019) – Representative Gary Palmer (AL-6), Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee (RPC), today announced two hires.
“I’m excited to add staff with broad policy acumen, extensive networks on and off the Hill, and a strong desire to support conservative ideas,” Palmer said. “We are ready to assist Members as they develop policy ideas promoting liberty, supporting families and solving real problems.”
Chairman Palmer has added the following individuals to the RPC staff:
Cameron Smith, Executive Director: Smith most recently served as vice president and general counsel at the R Street Institute. Previously, he served as legislative counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee before moving to the House of Representatives as counsel to former Florida Rep. Tom Feeney and former Kentucky Rep. Geoff Davis. From there, he served as vice president and general counsel at the Alabama Policy Institute. He earned a B.A. from Washington and Lee University and a J.D. from the University of Alabama.
Kelsey Wall, Senior Policy Advisor: Wall most recently served as professional staff member for the U.S. House Committee on Oversight & Government Reform under former Chairman Trey Gowdy. Previously, she served in the offices of Representative Steve Southerland, II and Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. prior to joining Palmer’s personal office staff as a legislative aide. From there, she held the role of policy analyst for the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry. She earned a B.A. from Auburn University and is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
